Etisalat has completed a project with the Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) to host the bank's secondary data centre.

The data centre is hosted at Etisalat's facility in Al Ain, with all 61 of the bank's branches able to connect via Etisalat's private MPLS network back-bone. The hosted service, which took just four weeks to deploy, will provide the bank with high availability of data and business continuity.

Nadeem Busheri, senior vice president, Head of Information Technology, Dubai Islamic Bank said: "After evaluating various service providers, we have selected Etisalat as our partner to host our secondary data center and this would help DIB to ensure business continuity, high service availability, and protection against any service disruption."

"The implementation of this project by Etisalat is testimony to our superior value proposition which presented DIB with a cost effective solution and optimum ROI to meet its stringent requirements," said Abdulla Hashim, senior vice president, Business Solutions, Etisalat. "This is further proof of the success of our strategy to offer customers a worthwhile outsourcing alternative to empower them with greater flexibility and reduced operational constraints so that they can focus on their core business."
