Telecom professionals are set to converge in Germany in March next year to discuss the latest developments in mobile broadband including 3G, HSPA and LTE.

The event, which is billed as "3G, HSPA+ & LTE Optimisation 2010" will take place on March 10-11, 2010, and is expected to attract leading names in the telecoms field including Bruno Jacobfeuerborn, CTO, of Deutsche Telekom and Bjorn Amundsen, VP & Head of Mobile Network Coverage, Telenor, Norway.

The Middle East will be represented by Data Sharan Mishra, head of technology and network department at Qtel, the incumbent telecom operator in Qatar.

As well as focusing on LTE, the event will also highlight ways in which operators can save valuable resources during the downturn by optimising their networks, according to the event's organiser, Informa.

Topics to be discussed include: how to meet the optimisation challenge as 3G traffic increases and networks evolve towards HSPA+ and LTE; how to gain savings in operational effort and cost with self-optimising wireless networks, and how optimisation and performance management has a direct impact on competitiveness and profitability.
