Etisalat nearing 100 million global subscribers
UAE-based telco’s operations cover eighteen markets around the world
UAE-based telco Etisalat claims it will soon rack up 100 million customers through its operations in eighteen markets around the world.
"We have witnessed a significant increase in the number of subscribers which clearly indicates the strong performance of our operations in the UAE and internationally. We will reach 100 million customers soon," said chairman Mohammad Omran in a company statement that also revealed the telco presently has 94 million subscribers worldwide.
Etisalat most recently announced its entry into Sri Lanka by acquiring local telecoms firm Tigo Sri Lanka in a deal worth $207 million, giving it access to more customers from the country's estimated 20 million population.
Etisalat's global operations now reaches nearly two billion people.
