Peripheral specialist Logitech has grown its Middle East product portfolio by launching a new range of products as part of its Autumn line.

One of the new releases is the G27 which includes a steering wheel, gear shift and foot pedals. This is the successor to the older G25 and differs from its predecessor on a number of levels; whereas the older wheel featured only two red buttons on its steering wheel, the newer G27 offers two sets of three.

The G27 also lacks the G25's gear-shift dial which allowed the user to change the gearshift between a sequential setup (only up and down to change gears) to a traditional H-pattern, which most manual-transmission road cars use. The G27 only offers the H-pattern shifter and, like its predecessor, is only compatible with the PC, PlayStation3 and PlayStation2 gaming platforms.

Logitech also promoted its Rechargeable Speaker S315i and Portable Speakers S125i. Both are speaker docks though the former is compatible with Apple's iPod and iPhone whereas the latter is designed for iPods only.

The Swiss company also demonstrated mice based on its ‘Darkfield' laser tracking technology. Mice equipped with this technology are able to function on glass and shiny surfaces whereas mice based on traditional tracking engines wouldn't be able to track movements accurately on these surfaces. Both the Anywhere Mouse MX and Performance Mouse MX were on hand though the latter is yet to be launched in the Middle East region.
