du has announced a three-year deal with Ericsson for managed services for its UAE-wide GSM/WCDMA network operations.

The agreement will focus on the operational efficiency of the network, helping du to reduce OPEX and provide stability of service across its multi-vendor network. The deal will also allow du to focus on launching new services for customers while Ericsson managing the network.

Hatem Bamatraf, senior vice president, Network Development, du, commented: "We are committed to continuously develop and use our network at the optimum level. With Ericsson's experience in managed services, we can bring new mobile telecommunications services to the UAE market more efficiently than ever."
