Document management firm Kofax is celebrating its tenth anniversary at GITEX Technology Week with the latest release of its popular Arabic language software.

“Arabic character recognition is obviously a key asset in this part of the world,” says Carsten Gelzinius, Country Manager, MESA for Kofax. “Our technology is able to extract Arabic language documents and send them to third parties. It’s a new feature and not many vendors are to able to provide that kind of platform.”

Kofax’s information capture products are a family of software applications and modules that provide fast payback by automating three essential steps; collecting documents and data from traditional capture devices; transforming those documents automatically; and delivering that information to critical business systems, like databases or content management solutions.

“Our technologies enable clients to enhance the extraction of information and then provide information to third-party systems like SAP, HP, Microsoft, and other enterprise vendors,” explains Kofax’s Gelzinius.

“We’re a growing company and are acquiring a lot of new technologies; one of our most recent acquisitions has been a firm that specialises in invoice processing and associated workflows.” he adds.

As Gelzinius points out, a lot of clients in the Middle East and Africa are presently operating with inefficient paper-based systems. Technology solutions that can automate these kinds of mundane processes can significantly aid regional companies, especially during times of recession.

“GITEX is the perfect forum where clients and partners can interact and share best practice ideas,” adds Gelzinius. “We can show our partner what other technologies are available on the market. Kofax doesn’t see itself as a product sales organisation; we are a platform that can identify new opportunities for our partners, and strategise to assist future growth.

As suppliers of their document scanners to the market, Kofax has also invited long-term partners Kodak and Fujitsu onto its stand this year, and is showcasing a range of their products at the show.
