Protecting mobile phone users from security threats is the name of the game for Adaox Middle East, which has just released a beta version of vendor partner ESET's Mobile Antivirus for the Symbian platform at GITEX.

The Beta version is to be tested for its basic functionality, including the scanning modes updates, logs and system activation, according to the company, which is the exclusive regional distributor for ESET products.

Neo Neophytou, managing director at Adaox Middle East, says that with growing numbers of people surfing the internet through their mobile phones everyday, the risk of mobile security threats is also increasing.

"ESET is always in the forefront in investing in research and developing the latest solutions to combat known and unknown threats," he says. "Their new version of mobile antivirus is the latest innovation from the leader in proactive protection and we are confident it will be well received in this market."
