Dubai has become the first city in the Middle East region to add its public transport network to Google Maps.

The agreement was signed at GITEX yesterday by the Roads & Transport Authority and Google, and is intended to enhance the journey planner service ‘Wojhati’ launched by the Public Transport Authority earlier this year.

With the announcement, Dubai now joins more than 50 cosmopolitan cities to use this technology such as London, Paris, New York and Zurich. Users can access the public transport network map through http://maps.google.com.
