GITEX Technology Week stands as the launch platform for Simmtronics Semiconductors' new range of netbooks and gaming memory.

The netbook, known as the Simmbook, features a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, can be equipped with 1GB or 2GB of memory and features a 160GB hard disk. The netbook can be setup with one of three operating systems: Ubuntu, Windows XP or Windows 7, once it is officially launched.

Simmtronics' new memory can be purchased in memory kits ranging from 4GB to 8GB and runs at a frequency of 2066MHz. The memory is also actively cooled by a fan and the company reckons this RAM is ideal for high-end gaming. The firm plans to enter the competitive LCD market in the future.
