Sharaf Electronics is on the prowl for new partners in an effort to grow its business in the region. Sharaf has participated at GITEX Technology Week every year since the company's inception in 2005.

The firm has enjoyed considerable success in the Middle East and finds GITEX a useful trade event to grow its list of partners. "GITEX is an important event for us and we're positive that any visitors we receive this year will turn out to be genuine and lead to new business," says Ravi Tharoor, General Manager of Sharaf Electronics. "We're hoping to meet like-minded partners and serious distributors," Tharoor adds.

Sharaf Electronics is the distribution arm of the Sharaf Group and distributes products from iRiver, General Electric (GE) and Powermat. This year the company is focusing on its new line of Powermat products, which allows users to wirelessly charge their mobile phones, digital media players, portable game consoles and more.

The products offer wireless charging, magnetic alignment, RFID handshake, audio confirmations, a charging light indicator, auto shut off feature and features ‘industrial design receivers'. For a user to be able to wirelessly charge his device, he simply needs to attach the receiver and then place the device on the charging surface.

Sharaf is showing its Powermat products in addition to its range of iRiver media players and GE digital cameras.

When pressed about his company's biggest markets, Tharoor responds, "Our largest markets are Saudi Arabia and the UAE. We have experienced strong success with our iRiver brand in the UAE, Oman and Qatar and we've just launched the Powermat brand at GITEX. We expect to have products from this brand available in the local markets by the start of November."

Dr Philip Wainwright, CEO SpartaMatrix International

GITEX is one the world's greatest opportunities to interact. Our first was in 2006 and we found it to be a very valuable use of our time. The organization is the best in the World! We are like-mined and available to partner with Sharaf both here and in other emerging markets. Presently we have large supply chain / infrastructure project, so if Sharaf is interested we are ready to talk!
