Italian firm Archway is using GITEX Technology Week to showcase its latest next-generation application, Security Enterprise Electronic Data System – or SEEDS.

“We’re really targeting this market, having tested this new product for a long time in various markets, including Europe and South America,” says Giovanni Frera, head of marketing and sales for Archway. “Every day, you produce and receive a substantial number of emails and documentation. It takes a lot of time to retrieve that data, so we decided to build a platform that would offer the customer the basic security features.”

“When SEEDS started, we decided to build a platform that would offer the customer the basic security features, such as anti-spam, anti-virus and a quantum filter,” adds Frera. “Every application that Archway delivers will have this security layer plus a power indexing and archiving architecture.”

Of major interest to clients in the Middle East is the fact that the SEEDS applications are conversant in English, Arabic and Farsi. Given the expected demand in the region, Archway is also now looking for a local distributor.

The first application to be launched is SEEDS Uno, which has been developed to deliver simple-to-use email, messaging and collaboration capabilities.

While Archway is looking at most sectors, Frera believes the application has most relevance in the healthcare, governmental, financial and educational sectors: “It’s all in one box and in our opinion, we think it’s the lowest total cost of ownership of other similar products in the market place.”
