IT solutions provider Comsec has joined forces with Comsys International and Mile2 to offer IT security training for the Middle East region.

“We provide solutions like firewalls, VPN and end-point solutions plus for the services, we provide assessment penetration and testing and security awareness programmes,” says Bilal H Assaf, Presales Engineer, Services Division at Comsec.

“But most recently we signed an exclusive partnership with Mile2 and the course is due to start in November. It is certified penetration testing (CPT) and we will have one [course] in Dubai and one in Abu Dhabi,” adds Assaf.

The two companies are promoting the course at GITEX Technology Week and interested students can sign up for the course at the Comsec stand.

Fadi Salsa, Director of Training and Awareness Services at Comsys International, explains that there is a great deal on the curriculum.

“We do the CPT, we do web security, web application security, wireless security — which is one of our main focus courses,” he says.

“We also do more basic courses because a lot of government agencies have asked us for more entry-level courses like the basics of security.”

Salsa is adamant that there is a gap in the training market for secure penetration testing and that a lot of the understanding in this area is outmoded.

The courses are mainly aimed at government agencies as it is supposedly perfect for organisations that are looking to launch e-services.
