US-based information security firm SafeNet has opened a new office in Dubai to support the need for data protection in the Middle East.

The new office expands SafeNet's global presence to 26 offices and more than 25,000 customers in 100 countries. "As one of the top five global information security vendors, we have the broadest range of data protection and content security solutions in the market," says Kane Hardy, VP, Southern EMEA Sales, SafeNet. "SafeNet has been active in the region for the past decade, but this expansion of a SafeNet office in Dubai is a great opportunity to better support this market," he adds.

SafeNet's portfolio in the Middle East includes its hardware security modules, which the firm says are used by Middle East governments for securing national identity solutions. It also claims that the majority of banks in MEA use its hardware security modules.
