UK-based firm Enigma is using its third appearance at GITEX to increase awareness of the firm's vehicle tracking services in the region.

Enigma has partnered with Du to use its network to transmit data about the driving behaviour of vehicles fitted with its devices. Since the middle of last year, Enigma has monitored 600 bus journeys per day in Abu Dhabi, tracking routes and ensuring that drivers stick to the speed limit. It is also monitoring the routes of bus journeys in Sharjah in a bid to help clamp down on out of hours driving and speeding.

The system delivers summary and group reports to users, who can access the data via the web or as a result of emailed updates. The updates report a range of behaviour, including ‘harsh breaking', ‘emergency breaking', and ‘ignition off', and provide information about the speed of the vehicle and the limit in the area in which it is driving.
