Symantec focus on green

Security software and back-up giant Symantec is launching the 2010 range of its consumer solutions, Norton Internet Security and Norton AntiVirus, after re-engineering them with a focus on speed, performance and industry-leading protection.

Security software and back-up giant Symantec is launching the 2010 range of its consumer solutions, Norton Internet Security and Norton AntiVirus, after re-engineering them with a focus on speed, performance and industry-leading protection.

Symantec’s industry experts are present at the company’s stand to meet with customers and discuss the new-generation data management technologies.

Another major focus for the vendor at this year’s show is green IT, with Symantec showing visitors how its solutions can help them save operating expenses.

“In Symantec’s recent Green IT report, 89% of respondents indicated IT should play a very or extremely significant ‘green role’, while 94% report that their organisation has a ‘green’ advocate, most of which have an IT focus,” says Johnny Karam, Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa at Symantec.

Symantec has more than ten partner sponsors represented on its stand and is demonstrating the full spectrum of its offerings from consumer to enterprise level as it looks to repeat the sort of success that it enjoyed at GITEX one year ago.

“Last year, we received a large number of enquiries which were captured and handed over to participating partners to pursue, qualify and generate sales as a result,” says Karam. “We have monitored our sales and opportunities that were influenced by or took place as a direct result of meetings that happened at GITEX. The ROI was significant. We are confident that we will see the same trend this year.”

The company has evolved to become one of the world’s largest software companies with more than 17,500 employees in more than 40 countries.
