Businesses looking for effective identity management systems need search no further than the stand of Sun Microsystems at GITEX Technology Week this year. In a world exclusive, the vendor has chosen this year’s event as the ideal venue to launch its new Identity Management Solution (IDM), or ‘IDM in a Box’.

With rapidly-rising demand for its hardware, Sun will also be using the show to promote its range of open storage systems, as well as its well known SPARC server line.

“Sun is fueling the revolution for ‘Open’ systems and software, and will be driving the message of Open Storage further this GITEX. Today’s storage challenges are tougher than ever, and businesses are faced with exponential data growth and escalating costs,” says Deena Habib, Marketing Manager for MENA, Sun Microsystems. “While closed, proprietary architectures tend to lock you in and make it difficult to respond quickly to market forces, Sun’s Open Storage combines open-source software with industry-standard hardware, enabling businesses to save up to 90% on storage costs. Our presence at OracleWorld will boost our visibility to our customers and partners, and enable them to experience these many benefits during demonstration sessions.”

For the duration of GITEX Technology Week, Sun plans to conduct demonstrations of its range of Intel-based products. Experts will also be on hand to instruct customers through various seminars at the Oracle VIP lounge.

Through these sessions, Sun Microsystems customers will be able to receive a   detailed walkthroughs and explanations of how strategic deployment of its storage, software and systems solutions have the potential to greatly enhance an enterprise’s return on investment  and reducing overall costs.

The Sun IDM in a box system will be officially launched on October 20 at the show. Apart from this new release, Habib also revealed that the enterprise vendor will be focusing on and demonstrating its new Flash-enabled x64 range of open network systems that will enable businesses to simplify system management, deliver higher performance and maximise the economics of computing by providing the speed, savings, and simplicity needed to optimise enterprise data centers.
