Genius Computer Technology (GCT) is making its 12th GITEX Technology Week a special one by opting to appear with separate booths for its two major brands, Genius and Edimax.

The UAE based distribution company has a long history in the field of information technology and has broken with tradition, this year, by opting for two distinctive booths.

The distribution powerhouse reckons its participation at the technology exhibition is critical to sustain momentum in a tough market.

"GCT's participation in this year's GITEX is crucial as the entire market in the Middle East is feeling the pressure from the current economic crisis. We are very positive about our future growth plans and want to convert the threats which we are facing from markets to opportunities," says Jihad Youssef, General Manager of GCT Ltd.

The company's Genius product line consists of input devices such as keyboards, mice and tablets. The brand also offers wireless solutions, home and personal entertainment products such as home theatre sets, digital cameras as well as digital photo frames. A selection of these products is being presented at the firm's booth.

At GCT's second Edimax stand the distribution firm is showcasing a host of products including wireless access points, routers, switches and a number of other devices.

Edimax was established in Taiwan in 1986 and now has over 20 years of experience in manufacturing and marketing core networking products. It offers numerous networking solutions for the home and SMEs.

The network hardware brand has long been exposed to the Asian, European and American markets and is keen on reaching out to the Middle East, CIS and Africa.

Genius Computer Technology is keen on forming strategic tie ups with regional players and is also interested in expanding into new territories. The firm is convinced that achieving these goals will help it succeed, with GITEX as a vital communication platform.

"We see this year's information technology trade exhibition as an extremely important window of opportunity for our entire industry. It is an excellent prospect for us to increase our brand visibility and directly reach out to the real potential clients in order to expand our regional market share," Youssef concludes.
