Windows Awards – Vote and Win

It's time for the WINDOWS Middle East Awards, recognizing the best in consumer technology in the region

With GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK 2009 on our doorstep, it's also time for the WINDOWS Middle East Awards which will be held at the event on 18th October 2009.

In case you haven't noticed the promotion on the this website yet, take a look at the  WINDOWS 2009 Awards microsite.

The awards aim to recognise the best in Consumer Technology in the region, recognising and rewarding outstanding IT products and the most customer-focused firms.

Products in 15 categories will be judged by WINDOWS judges whilst there are a number of other categories that can be judged upon by you the reader. Reader voting can be done by visiting the above-mentioned website and clicking on the ‘Reader Voting' link.

Just by entering your vote for the awards, you stand the chance of winning a US Robotics Ndx Router, a SanDisk Fuze 4GB MP3 player or an HP Deskjet D1560 printer.

There's also a wide range of other prizes up for grabs such as Need for Speed Shift (PC version), Microsoft Webcams, Asus WL-500gP wireless router or SandDisk 4GB flash drives.

Categories such as Best Internet Service Provider, Best Mobile Media Device, Consumer Support Award, Game of the Year, Top Technology Retailer and Ultimate Smartphone will be decided upon by readers.

Apart from the WINDOWS Awards on 18 October 2009, there is also another WINDOWS Event starting on Saturday 17 October 2009 where Belkin will be presenting the WINDOWS Middle East Fashion Show. The fashion show will take place at Gitex Shopper from 17-24 October at Airport Expo Dubai and you will be able to see the latest gadgets on parade at the event. It starts at 12 PM on the hour, every hour and on every day of the event. 

GITEX Technology Week 2009 and GITEX SHOPPER 2009 are already shaping up to be interesting events with a number of highlights to watch out for in the consumer electronics space. Obviously, the preview of Windows 7 is set to be one of the major highlights of this year's show, but there will also be other interesting events to look forward to such as Kingston putting on show its 256GByte memory stick. With other major players such as Dell, Jacky's and Etisalat set to have a presence at GITEX 2009; the show is set to be an exciting event.
