Samsung has launched two new dual-LCD cameras that it's targeting at people who like to take self-portraits.

The 12.2 megapixel ST500 and ST550 cameras come with a small 1.5" LCD on the front and a larger 3.5" one at the back. If a user wants to take a self-portrait, all they need to do is tap on front screen and immediately take a photograph.

"We've listened to what consumers want and need, particularly in the social networking field, and I expect these latest products to surpass even the highest expectations of today's budding photographer, guaranteeing fun and excitement to the user," said Ram Modak, GM, Digital Media Business, Samsung Gulf Electronics. "These cameras will be must-haves for those individuals that use popular social networking websites and for families that want to get everyone, including the photographer, in the picture."

Going beyond just the self-portait feature, ST550's LCD delivers almost four times more resolution than traditional cameras at 1,152K resolution. Other features of the camera include haptic vibration feedback, face and smile recognition as well as HD video recording capabilities.

Samsung's ST550 is now available for AED 1,299 while the ST500 will set you back AED 1,099.
