Network security and management specialist RAS Infotech has become one of the first resellers in the Middle East to be certified on solutions based around Trend Micro's Deep Security, server and application protection software.

The Deep Security suite is designed to unify security across cloud computing and virtual and traditional data centre servers. It helps prevent data breaches and business disruptions, and enables compliance with internal security and regulatory requirements.

Khazi Mohamed Akram, general manager at Dubai-based RAS Infotech, said the company would look to "further extend" Trend Micro's reach in the regional security market.

RAS Infotech is likely to target end-users with aspirations to shift more of their IT operations to the cloud, as the vendor's software protects virtual machines by enabling computing resources to move safely from private to hosted environments.

"Cloud-based services are being increasingly adopted by businesses across the Middle East and Africa," said Chris Moore, regional managing director at Trend Micro. "In RAS Infotech we have a partner that has in-depth local knowledge, and is best placed to make security for cloud computing more widely available."

RAS Infotech was formed nine years ago and specialises in providing security and performance management solutions to enterprises. The current list of vendors it works with includes NetIQ, Shavlik, Marshal, F-Secure and Devicelock.
