Ford Middle East returns to GITEX Technology Week for the second consecutive year, as the official automotive partner for the event, along with the premiere of the Official Car for GITEX Technology Week, the 2010 Ford Taurus Limited.

The 2010 Ford Taurus Limited, which will make its Middle East debut, includes many leading edge technologies for comfort and safety.

Among the high tech features on the 2010 Ford Taurus Limited are Adaptive Cruise Control, that utilizes radar; Collision Warning with Brake Support, that also uses radar sensors; MyKey mode that allows parents or fleet administrators to restrict driving for added safety; SecuriCode Keyless Entry; Auto High Beam, Rain-Sensing Wipers; Easy Fuel Capless Fuel Filler system; Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), that issues a warning when vehicles enter the car’s blind spot; Cross Traffic Alert – that uses the BLIS radar modules to sense oncoming traffic when slowly backing out of a parking spot; Ford SYNC in-vehicle voice-activated communications and entertainment system, developed jointly with Microsoft, and Multi-Contour Seats with Active Motion.

Waldo Galan, Ford Middle East’s Managing Director commented: “Our participation in GITEX for the second consecutive year comes at the right time as we debut our latest flagship model, the all-new 2010 Taurus Limited that has received great acclaim since its first North American appearance this summer. The all-new Taurus Limited not only will bring industry-leading technologies and exceptional craftsmanship to its segment, but it will also define what to expect from Ford’s future car portfolio: cutting-edge technology, benchmark driving dynamics, premier quality and advanced safety features. We are truly excited about this opportunity to show GITEX Technology Week visitors as well as our customers in the Middle East the result of our focused efforts.”

The 2010 Ford Taurus Limited will be on show at the GITEX Technology Week In-Car Gadget Zone, where Ford will also showcase the high performance Taurus Limited SHO featuring its unique EcoBoost engine technology that outputs V8 performance and power from a V6 engine.

Ford Reviews

All around, the 2010 Ford Taurus presents an interesting new shape. The old VW Passat-like roof-line is gone, replaced with a crisper profile that hints at the smaller Ford Fusion. The front fenders are pronounced and the roof is lowered, giving the sedan a sportier stance. Up front it’s less than perfect; with a broad upper chrome bar, three dissimilar painted bars below, a new grille, and wrap-around headlights, there’s a lot to take in at first glance. The rear fenders are most interesting, with sculpted shoulders and firm, straight character lines playing off each other in a way no Taurus has ever seen.
