Avaya, a global leader in enterprise communications systems, is planning to use this year's GITEX Technology Week to highlight its latest product, Aura. According to Roger El Tawil, Channel and Marketing Director for Avaya MENA, Turkey, and Greece, Aura is "a breakthrough architecture" that easily integrates communications across multi-vendor, multi-location and multi-modal businesses.

"Avaya Aura radically simplifies complex communications networks, reduces infrastructure costs and quickly delivers voice, video, messaging, presence, Web applications and more to employees anywhere," he says.

He adds that Avaya will also showcase the latest range of in-room phone technology including the company's new ‘Media Hub' for the hospitality sector, for the first time in the region.

El Tawil said the Media Hub, which features an easy user interface, large touch screen, advanced applications and "a luxurious look and feel", allows direct access to applications and internet-based information through a large color touch screen with a high-quality audio.

Meanwhile, for SMEs, Avaya will be showcasing the latest version of IP Office. "With more flexible options and editions, release-5 gives a variety of different features and expanded capacities and capabilities that can give both unified communications and contact centre capabilities to small and medium businesses," El Tawil said.

For Avaya, GITEX and GULFCOMMS have "always been a very significant event for the past few years," according to El Tawil.

"It is an excellent opportunity to meet ICT professionals from across the region as well as existing and potential customers and partners. GITEX also provides us with a platform to demonstrate our solutions and product roadmaps. Year on year, Avaya has witnessed an increase in attendance at our stand and interest from customers and visitors," he said.
