There will be a strong Gallic flavour at this year's GITEX Technology Week with 18 French IT companies making the journey to Dubai in the quest to develop business links in the region.

The French contingent will be led by Ubifrance, the government agency for international business development.

"We achieved great success from last year's participation at GITEX, which is why we are here again," explains Frederique Goudard, Project Manager of the French pavilion. "In addition to that we intend to promote the French companies and their products, know-how, quality and competitiveness."

Ubifrance's main goal is to assist SMEs with their international strategies, right from a comprehensive export diagnosis at regional level to the completion of projects in foreign markets.

Goudard says the French technology providers scheduled to attend this year's GITEX will all be looking to explore partnerships with Middle East enterprises. "The aim of the French pavilion is to reinforce professional contacts and provide new business opportunities between the French companies and the UAE, as well as other Gulf and Middle East countries," she reveals.
