The Abu Dhabi Police is arming themselves with technology in their fight against crime by using hi-tech systems that enable real-time translation access during interrogation.

Catering to the multicultural and multilingual society of the United Arab Emirates, Polycom video conferencing systems have been implemented at Shabiah, Musafah and Khalidiyah police stations. These systems connect inspectors and investigation rooms to a team of translators that are accessible at all times.

“This project is one of the most interesting use of our (rich media) technology and we are very pleased to be part of this exciting new initiative by Abu Dhabi Police,” said K.S. Parag, managing director at FVC, Polycom’s authorised distributor in the region.

The next phase of the project, implemented by Al Rowad IT solutions, will connect other stations in Abu Dhabi, as well as Al Ain, Traeef and Al Khazna.
