Fortinet fortifies EMEA channel partner team Emilio Roman will be responsible for implementing Fortinet’s strategy in the EMEA region.

UTM vendor Fortinet has strengthened its channel team in the EMEA region with the appointment of Emilio Roman as director of channel, marketing and renewals.

Although Roman will be based in Europe, it is likely that he will have a direct influence over the channel strategy and programmes that are developed for Middle East partners.

Roman boasts a strong background in sales management roles, which the vendor believes makes him well-qualified to drive high-value marketing and business initiatives with channel partners across the EMEA region.

"I'm very excited about the new challenge Fortinet has given me, and I'm looking forward to implementing new actions that will help strengthen our partner programme and brand awareness, equip our channel with the right marketing tools and improve our service contract renewals processes," stated Roman.

Roman has been with Forinet for the past five years, initially serving as country manager for the Iberia region where he quickly scaled up the vendor's partner network to 150 resellers. Prior to that he worked for vendors Attachmate and Samsung.

Patrice Perche, VP EMEA & SEA for Fortinet, said Roman's task would be to oversee the growth of its channel in EMEA.

"We shaped our partner base with the objective to deliver high-value business," he commented. "Emilio's new role will be key in tightly integrating channel, renewals and marketing strategies for greater efficiency to keep gaining market share in the region."
