Qatar-based Sidra Medical and Research Centre has signed an agreement with MEEZA to provide it with IT infrastructure services.

The Doha-based data centre specialist will supply the development with a range of essential infrastructure, including network hardware, servers, and professional services. MEEZA will design and implement Sidra's network infrastructure, which will help support the Centre's aim to become an all-digital academic medical center.

James Fanella, CEO of MEEZA commented on the deal: "We're delighted to be SIDRA's IT services provider of choice. Our team of highly-skilled engineers have the experience and expertise to meet the complex IT needs of SIDRA and we're honoured to be actively supporting her Highness Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned in bringing a world class health facility and medical research centre to Qatar."

Daniel Bergin, executive project director of SIDRA added: "An efficient, reliable and well-maintained IT infrastructure is imperative to the success of such an ambitious project. We're confident MEEZA will fulfil our IT needs and prove to be a key asset in our growth."

MEEZA's customers in the region include Vodafone Qatar and Masraf Al Rayan. The firm was recently named the region's top cloud service provider within the Middle East by the Cloud Computing Journal, and claims to have launched the first high-availability Tier-3 data centre in Qatar.
