The MacBook White is the least expensive notebook in Apple’s portable range and this fits with its positioning as an enticing proposition for students. The White is also designed to draw existing Windows-based notebook users to the Apple bandwagon.
Despite its entry-level positioning and bargain - for an Apple notebook – price tag, the White doesn’t come off as a budget machine. It features a white polycarbonate body and this looks fantastic from every angle. The machine’s edges are also rounded nicely and apart from minor dirt showing on the white surface, we had no complaints about the notebook’s looks and build quality.
Under its attractive body the White is stuffed with quality components that make the machine quite lively in terms of performance. We were able to work on a Word document, watch a DivX movie and have our e-mail client receive e-mails all without the machine feeling sluggish. We didn’t notice any stutters during movie playback either; a tribute to the machine’s 2.13GHz dual-core processor, 2Gbytes of memory and swift hard drive.
In terms of battery life the White proved quite a resilient machine. Using the notebook with its WiFi adapter enabled and working on office documents, the machine stayed alive for four hours and 20 minutes. Whilst watching a DivX movie however, the battery life was shortened and went from full charge to 30% charge in two hours.

Pros: its a mac...its beautiful, cheaper than older mac laptops used to be and it is even slightly eco effective
Cons: its no macbook pro!
all in all its a good buy in the price range, but if you can afford it it would be better to opt for the macbook pro which has a bit more grunt http://www.notebookauctions.co.uk/macbooks/
