You have to hand it to the former Satyam bosses - it is now emerging from the Central Bureau of Investigation's inquiries that Ramalinga Raju and co turned their IT skills to their advantage in perpetrating the $1 billion-plus fraud at the services company.

According to reports, the former chairman was able to insert a sub routine into the code of the company's invoice management system to create over 7,500 fake invoices worth over $900 million. Raju and his accomplices also used their not inconsiderable expertise to hide the fake document trail with a number of other hacks.

Assuming that Raju is ever brought to trial - and he's still claiming to be too ill to talk to police, an excuse that I'm sure many accused must wish they had thought of - then he might have another career waiting for him as a financial security consultant. He'd certainly be the biggest reformed black hacker in the market.
