Macworld is drawing up a list of the countries that are due to get the next wave of iPhone 3G launches on 22nd August. With the phone due to hit 70 countries by the end of year.

Twenty countries are due for launch on 22nd, with 17 confirmed so far - but none of them in the Middle East at the moment. Jordan, Egypt and Qatar are all supposed to get the iPhone, as is Turkey, but they haven't been mentioned as part of the second release schedule. The nearest country to get the phone on 22nd August will be India.

Which leaves would-be Gulf buyers stuck at the mercy of the grey market, with handsets selling at up to $2,300 (if Gulf News is to believed).
