Go launches WiMAX service in Al Medina GO's WiMAX service should be available in Al Medina from today.

Etihad Atheeb Telecom GO has announced that it will launch its WiMAX service for Al Medina today.

The company, which currently offers WiMAX broadband services in Riyadh and Jeddah, is introducing services as part of its expansion, and will target small businesses and consumers, with the aim of extending services to corporates in future.

GO is offering WiMAX service plans at three speeds, 512 Kbps, 1 Mbps, and 2 Mbps, with the same service plans and tariffs as in other cities. The company also has a number of special offers for the launch.

Dr Ahmed bin Abbas Sindi ,CEO of GO, said: “We are proud of the arrival of broadband Internet service from GO to Al-Medina Al-Munawara, to serve the people in the City of Light, the city of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH). This step is an important milestone in the second phase of WiMAX network expansion for GO, as we launch this service with full understanding of importance and uniqueness and spirituality of Al-Medina, and the necessity to provide a solid network and consistent service for high quality broadband Internet, through the use 4th Generation technologies.”

Customers can sign up for the service from GO outlets in the Rashid Mall Centre, International Mall, and Aaliah mall, or from GO partners Jarir Bookstore, Extra, Obeikan Bookstore, 4run and Optimal. More information is also available at www.go.com.sa .
