Omantel posts $91m net profit in Q2
Omantel reports net profit of 35.14 million rials ($91.27 million) in the second quarter, down 3.26 percent from the year-earlier period

Oman Telecommunications Co (Omantel) reported net profit of 35.14 million rials ($91.27 million) in the second quarter on Wednesday, down 3.26 percent from the year-earlier period.
The company posted net profit of 73.038 million rials in the six months ended June 30, compared with 74.77 million rials a year ago, it said in a statement on the bourse website, without giving quarterly figures.
Reuters calculated the second-quarter figure based on the company's earlier financial statements.
Omantel posted a net profit of 36.36 million rials in the second quarter of 2008, and 37.94 million rials in the first quarter of this year.
Two analysts forecast quarterly profit at 37.86 million rials and 120 million rials, in a Reuters net profit survey in July. (Reuters)
