Hermes Datacomms, a specialist provider of communications to the oil & gas sector, has expanded its presence in the region with the opening of a new office.

The company which offers specialist communications and services including microwave, satellite and fibre links, managed networks, PBX, video-conferencing and computer networking, has been active in the region for ten years, but says it will now be closer to customers with the new office.

The regional operations will be lead by Kevin Thorley, who has taken on the role of CEO for the Middle East.

“The new office location allows us to be closer to our existing customers in Dubai and the Middle East, and will enable us to support our customers with a local team of experienced engineers,” said Thorley.

“Dubai offers excellent communication routes with daily flights to places such as Iraq. Hermes also aims to build relations with local PTT’s who already have infrastructure in place within the region. All of these factors will allow Hermes Datacomms to offer a service which exceeds our customer expectations. We are also looking forward to expanding upon opportunities available within the Middle East for new business.” he added.
