When we did our ‘Next Big Thing in Technology” special feature this week we left out what may just prove to be the biggest thing of all — the move towards digital publishing. As part of this shift, IT Weekly will become the first digital title produced by ITP Digital. Next year will see IT Weekly shift to an online format, giving you, our readers, more choice over how and when you access and read IT Weekly content and allowing us to make sure that content is more timely and informative.

For those of you who are reading the print edition of IT Weekly, this means that this week’s issue is going to be the last in that format. However, our dedicated readers should not worry, for the digital edition of IT Weekly will retain the same look and ‘feel’ of the print edition — you can even print it off and read it at your leisure in the same way that you would now.

In the two years since we launched IT Weekly, the title has grown to be the region’s leading news source for the ICT sector, having notched up an enviable record of providing exclusive stories, interviews with some of the biggest names in the industry — both regional and international — and features and comment.

None of that will change with the switch to a digital edition. As our readers have come to expect, IT Weekly online will provide the best, most topical news for the region's ICT sector, reporting on the key industry events and issues relevant to the needs of our readers; from the CIOs of large enterprises, to IT managers at small-to-medium businesses (SMBs), through to the small office home office (SoHO) market. We will provide something for everyone each week: from the latest gadgets released here in the region right through to reports on major ICT implementations.

IT Weekly will provide an interactive forum and voice for industry leaders, end users and analysts each week, making IT Weekly the true industry platform for the Middle East and beyond.

By switching to online however, we can provide so much more: the digital edition of IT Weekly will also feature interactive words and images, providing a far more informative mix of content than print alone can ever hope to provide. This will make us a bigger and better title than ever before, and will give you, our readers, better and more timely content than you have ever been able to receive before.

The switch to online also means that we move from one ITP division to another; we are leaving ITP Business to move to ITP Digital, so we will sign off by saying thank you very much to our colleagues in Business. There are too many to thank individually, but Matthew Southwell deserves praise for his support on the launch of IT Weekly as do all the print group’s editorial staff. Thanks very much guys.
