Middle East IT distributor Mindware has added products from Huawei Symantec (HS) to its portfolio after becoming the company’s authorised distributor for the region.

HS is a joint venture by Chinese networking vendor Huawei and antivirus giant Symantec focused on the sale and services of network security and storage solutions.

Mindware claims it will build awareness and reach for the HS brand through the 2,500-strong network of resellers that it serves across the region.

The distributor will focus on HS hardware and software that address a variety of areas, including security domain partitioning, unified threat management and online behaviour management.

Shadi Tahan, solutions department manager at Dubai-based Mindware, believes HS is a powerful addition to its security offering. “We have identified the potential of Huawei Symantec’s extensive range of technology-driven products in terms of addressing certain issues that concern many clients in the region, including virtual private network, terminal security, anti-distributed denial of service attack, anti-virus, redundancy and anti-spam.”

Maxwell Tsang, regional director for MENA at Huawei Symantec, is confident that the company has found the right partner to market its products in the region.

“Mindware has comprehensive coverage and a deep understanding of how to succeed in the distribution business in the region, and through their services and sales consulting capabilities, which add value to our channel, they are definitely a ‘cannot miss’ distribution partner for us,” he stated.
