Indian IT solutions company Mindtree Consulting has announced a restructure to focus on new technology areas and developing markets including the Middle East.

The restructure includes the formation of new business units, with a focus on five key areas: IT Services, Product Engineering Services, Infrastructure Management and Technical Support (IMTS), Independent Testing and the newly formed Knowledge Services.

The Knowledge Services unit, which will be headed by Scott Staples, will focus on providing analytics services to clients to help them better understand business processes, risks and opportunities.

The restructure also includes a shuffle of senior management, with Ashok Soota, taking on the role of executive chairman to add to his chairman of the board post, while Krishnakumar Natarajan, taking over the CEO role from him, in addition to his duties as MD.

Anjan Lahiri, CEO of IT Services at MindTree is set to visit Dubai this week to meet new and potential partners and customers, and to discuss the potential of the restructured business.

“The Middle East has become a very important region for MindTree over the last few years. We have seen a significant increase in the demand for our proven and reliable solutions since we opened our local office in DAFZA last year. We have signed a number of clients in major financial centres in the region. A strong team of industry experts who understand the local market has been a key factor in winning new business and developing strong relationships in the region,” said Lahiri.
