3i Infotech has opened a new office in Riyadh to further its business inside Saudi Arabia. The IT solutions and services provider has also named Amit Trigunayat head of operations for Saudi Arabia.

The vendor states that the opening of the new facility will give its Saudi business extra impetus and focus in the banking, financial services and insurance verticals.

3i Infotech claims that it has doubled its revenues in KSA over the last three years, although, the vendor has not disclosed revenue figures to back up its claims.

Pankaj Chawla, COO at 3i Infotech, Middle East, Africa, Russia and CIS, says that the development of an office in Riyadh should go some way to increasing end-user confidence in the financial and banking hub. “On-the-ground presence in Riyadh will certainly provide huge comfort to banks, financial institutions, mutual funds and insurance companies and also facilitate government projects in the region,” said Chawla.

The COO says that the appointment of Trigunayat to run 3i Infotech’s Saudi arm will complement the deep inroads the vendor has been making into the Kingdom’s solutions market and the growth it has been enjoying.

Trigunayat has extensive experience in the IT business, including specific background knowledge of the banking and finacial services sector, which should serve him well in tackling 3i Infotech’s aim of increasing its focus on these verticals. Prior to joining 3i Infotech he held the role of general manager at the National Technology Group in Saudi and before that he was technical director at SMPL India.
