UAE-based distribution outfit FVC is gearing up to host video conferencing partner Polycom’s regional channel conference in Dubai this week.

FVC, which is Polycom’s exclusive distribution agent for the Middle East and North Africa and which has offices in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Egypt and Morocco, will be holding the annual event with the aim of promoting new products and technology introduced by Polycom to the vendor’s existing partner base. The distributor will also share tools such as its ROI calculators, which should afford resellers that are working with Polycom’s wares extra value.

FVC is convinced there is great mileage in the video conferencing market at the moment due to businesses making drastic reassessments of travel expenditure.

"Polycom's business has enjoyed a double digit growth in the Middle East in 2008 and we expect this trend to continue, given the current constraints on business travel expenses,” proclaimed KS Parag, managing director at FVC. “We see more and more businesses in the region realising the demonstratable return on investment from video conferencing especially in today's technology that allows for a high quality, life-like experience."

The conference, which is to be held over the next three days, will see attendance from over 55 channel partners from Polycom's video solutions division, as well as more than 65 additional partners tied to the vendor’s VoIP business in the region.

FVC has said that it also plans to make use of the partner meet in order to showcase the offerings of some of the other ‘media-rich’ vendors in its portfolio such as Vaddio and VBrick.
