Graphics card vendor Nvidia has reached a deal with Touchmate that will see the UAE hardware assembler use its GPU technology on its entire range of systems, including gaming PCs, desktops and notebooks.

One of the first products to emerge from the arrangement is Touchmate's ‘Transformer Gamers PC', which it unveiled at the end of last year and has since made available through the retail channel. The PC has two configurations using Nvidia GeForce 8800GT and 9800GT GPUs.

"This tie-up provides Touchmate with ultimate visual computing technologies like CUDA, PHYSX and SLI. At the same time it gives Nvidia instant access to 85 hypermarkets and retail stores in the UAE, Oman and Qatar," said Daniel Saison, sales director for MEA and India at Nvidia.

Touchmate continues to be one of the more prominent regionally-based PC and electronics brands in the Middle East with a portfolio spanning more than 850 products. Its operation in Jebel Ali offers consolidation of assorted items and immediate delivery to export clients, while it has factories in China and Taiwan.

Vasant Menghani, managing director at Touchmate, insists the alliance will give the company access to the latest Nvidia technologies, which it will endeavour to market to Middle East customers. "We will make concerted efforts along with Nvidia to educate the market about ‘Graphics Plus' and ‘PC Optimisation' using Nvidia GeForce graphics cards," promised Menghani.
