The UAE Ministry of Education is set to deploy an electronic archiving solution for its educational curriculum.

The project, which will be based on Canto’s Cumulus archiving solution, and is beign developed by systems integrator PRO TECHnology, aims to make curricula more easily available to users, and to allow them to add rich content and updates to data.

The Electronic Archiving System, part of the MOE Curriculum Department, will create a centralized repository of documents, with secure access and improved ability to find documents, along with the capacity to scale to handle more content. It will initially handle 50% of the department’s data.

Shaikha Khulood Al Qassimi, Director of Curriculum Department, MOE said: “Our aim is to complete the archiving process and required information bank by using the electronic archiving system ‘Canto Cumulus’, which will serve as a sufficient source of information to develop subjects and contents. Our decision to partner with PRO TECHnology on this project is based on their proven expertise in such large-scale implementation. By adopting this system, we are able to achieve rapid delivery, thereby specifically addressing our precise requirements.”

Eyad Al Shanable, business consultant manager for Government & Corporate Accounts at PRO TECHnology, said: “The availability of a modern infrastructure that copes with the work conditions and the requirements of development is essential for any organization. Through the implementation of this solution, the Curriculum Department can now benefit from the usage of an appropriate environment, which can deal with more than one content stream without exerting unnecessary effort. We are proud to be MOE’s partners in this project, and we are looking forward to working with the Ministry in the future.”
