TDME’s former Cisco product manager Sundeep Raina has joined racking and cabinets vendor Chatsworth Products Inc (CPI) to develop its business in the region.

Raina is tasked with establishing and maintaining relationships with customers, distributors and channel partners as the US-based supplier of data centre structural equipment looks to improve its performance in the Middle East.

As regional sales manager, he will also be in charge of ensuring partners are properly trained and certified to support end-users. The company says his appointment is CPI’s first step towards establishing a local presence in the region, although it already distributes its products through Online, Anixter and Mayflex.

“Since the Middle East has emerged as a key data centre market, businesses are looking to employ the best solutions available in the market place,” said Raina. “By focusing on innovative partner programmes, training and certification, our partners will be able to provide the expertise required to service and support our customers.”

Raina has extensive knowledge of the networking and infrastructure channel. Prior to leading a 12-strong Cisco team at TDME he held multiple positions at Westcon Group-owned Online Distribution.

Meanwhile, another well-known face in the channel, Foxconn’s Vadim Lisenko, is swapping life in the components sector to become marketing manager for Tejari at the Dubai Department of Economic Development. Samson Fernandez will take over his marketing duties at Foxconn from next week.
