SAP Forum stresses need for adaptability

SAP EMEA president tells regional businesses they need to embrace change

SAP opened the SAP Forum today in Dubai, the ERP giant’s largest ever dedicated event in the region.

Speaking at the opening of the Forum, José Duarte, president and CEO of SAP Field Operations EMEA, said that businesses in the region need to show adaptability if they are going to thrive in a changing business environment.

“Organizations in the region are moving at an incredible speed, and those which aspire to take their business to the next level require the agility and ability to react quickly and embrace change,” said Duarte.

“From delivering superior customer value while retaining the best employees to enabling operational and financial excellence, Middle East organizations of all sizes must learn to align multiple fundamental value components with the new business priorities presented by the current environment,” he added.

Duarte also visited customers and partners in the visited Qatar and Oman.

The one day event, which focused on the theme of Business Beyond Boundaries, included sessions from SAP executives and industry executives on a range of best practices for businesses to achieve operational excellence.

Sergio Maccotta, Managing Director, SAP MENA, said: “Middle East organizations of all sizes can benefit from the adoption of best-practice tools and methodologies. SAP has enabled the ongoing global success stories of some of the region’s biggest public and private sector names, from Egypt’s postal authority to Saudi Arabia’s largest oil producing company.”
