Juniper Networks has introduced data center infrastructure solutions that can reduce network complexity and operational costs.

The approach includes switching, routing and security technologies, all running on a single network operating system – JUNOS software.

“Juniper’s new data center offering helps to addresses some of the most critical issues facing businesses in the Middle East, including reducing IT costs, decreasing power consumption, and making better use of existing office space,” said Dr. Samer Shaar, regional director for Juniper Middle East, Central Africa and Pakistan.

An analysis of a typical medium sized data center with 3,000 servers and 125 Gbps of firewall service processing revealed that the number of core networking devices could be reduced by a factor of five after deploying the solutions.

When compared to existing legacy networks, this could translate to savings of up to 52% in capital expenditures, around 44% in power and cooling, and nearly 55% in rack space at the data center.

“We are now extending the expertise we have gained from mission-critical deployments worldwide into the Middle East data center environment. Our solutions empower businesses, offering them choice and the ability to drive down the cost and complexity of managing their data center networks, which enable them to realize the fullest return on investment in technologies such as server virtualization,” Shaar added.
