Linux specialist Opennet is embarking on a mission to train Middle East partners on the latest virtualisation technology by hosting a channel roadshow that will take in four countries.

The company, which serves as Red Hat’s master distributor in the MENA region, will kick off the virtualisation tour in Morocco later this month before moving onto Egypt and the UAE a week later. Opennet will conclude the programme in Saudi Arabia during mid-December.

“Virtualisation technology delivers a quantum step in IT operational flexibility, speed of deployment, and application performance and availability,” claimed David Allinson, general manager at Opennet MEA. “As it becomes one of the main drivers in the IT market, it is important to share some of the key tools and options that Red Hat offers in this space.”

Opennet’s channel training will consist of two consecutive half-day sessions. The first session is due to focus on the business benefits of Red Hat’s virtualisation solutions, while the second one will concentrate on the technical advantages of the solution, including live demonstrations.

Opennet has acted as Red Hat’s primary partner since opening Dubai operations five years ago and is authorised to provide certified training to partners throughout the Gulf and North Africa.
