Technology titan HP has been pressing the flesh with customers and partners this week as it continues to build on its existing presence in the Middle East.

Some of the company’s top executives, including the worldwide boss of its US$28 billion-a-year Personal Systems Group (PSG) unit, Todd Bradley and Jos Brenkel, who oversees the company’s PSG efforts in the Mediterranean, Middle East and Africa region, have been in Dubai for GITEX Technology Week.

“We have mainly been using the GITEX environment to meet with partners and customers,” explains Brenkel. “It’s really been an opportunity to thank the channel and really focus on the ‘experience’ message that we have been delivering at GITEX Shopper to make sure the execution is carried out properly. We are very happy with how GITEX has gone this year.”

A number of HP partners, including distribution house Redington, have been exhibiting at GITEX this week, while the vendor has also put its weight behind the Shopper and Consumer Electronics Expo, where Brenkel claims sales have been even stronger than last year.

HP has launched its latest line-up of imaging, printing and PC solutions — including new home and office printers, consumer notebooks and iPAQs — during the show.
