Lightscribe is demonstrating its laser-enabled technique for CD and DVD labelling at GITEX Technology Week this year.

The technology is aimed at everyone from stay at home moms to small and medium enterprises searching for an innovative solution.

The LightScribe technology works by enabling the laser inside a disc drive to focus light energy onto a dye coating on the disc's label side.

The Lightscribe solution allows users to create and burn their own unique labels through the use of a specially designed disk drive, media and software. "Our solutions are not new, they are used by some of the biggest names in the industry, including Verbatim and Samsung. We are now introducing them to a new market," says Kevin Jefcoate, MD of Lightscribe.
