DMD Associates is eager to make its presence, and its Hive solution, known to the Middle East events industry by attending GITEX Technology Week.

The Hive is a complete online events solution with a variety of modules ranging from online registration through to floor plan booking and onsite badge-creation. This process makes use of radio frequency identification (RFID) technologies as a method of not only tracking assets but also of locating staff and controlling access, all of which are valuable tools in the events sector.

"The Middle East is booming in terms of the events industry and our software, especially when it comes to RFID, can be a great tool. One of the real advantages of RFID is because it so simple to customise and adapt," says Christophe Draye, CEO of DMD Associates.

Draye believes that events organisers in the region have a growing awareness of new technologies and are looking for reliable online solutions that do not require them to create their own structures. "They are looking for a one-stop shop that manages their needs from end to end," says Draye.

"This is our first GITEX and we are already fielding interest from a number of verticals regarding our technologies. We have also previously done some work in this region and this is standing us in good stead at the moment,"
Draye continues.

DMD is committed to developing next generation technologies that will be reliable, adaptive and wireless. Its range of solutions includes shared team task solutions, project management, and workflow management.

The Belgian company began its existance as a web development firm and this has carried over into its work in software as well as online services.

"We have the relevant experience and background to offer real value to the events industry here, and not just in Dubai but all the countries that are opening their doors to the industry in the Middle East," explains Draye.

Hive also offers an online e-marketing and e-mailing module, which allows organisers to target attendees with newsletters. They are also able to put in requests remotely.
