Dubai Airport Free Zone is looking to lure more international business tenants at this year's GITEX Technology Week.

"Currently eight percent of our more than 1500 companies operating from the free zone are in IT, computers, internet, electronics and electrical segments and we are hoping to attract international companies in these industry sectors to base their operations from the Dubai Airport Free Zone," says the free zone's director of markeing, Ibrahim Ahli.

He noted that a recent  international study revealed that the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions are spending US$20 billion annually on IT, computers and associated technology, with this figure expected to grow to $95 billion in three years.
