Prognoz primed for UAE success

Russian enterprise software specialist Prognoz is at this year's GITEX Technology Week to promote its line of business intelligence products, as well as its new range of information and analytical services designed for a range of key vertical sectors.

Sergey Shestakov, managing director for sales and business development says: "Prognoz has been operating in the IT market for more than 17 years and is committed to developing innovative Business Intelligence (BI) and Business Performance Management (BPM) solutions for professionals in public and private sectors. We develop customised software products facilitating decision-making for governments, banks, and business.

Thus, we deal with economic analysis and forecasting, financial and production modelling for business corporations, risk management and investment planning as well."

Prognoz is headquartered in Russia, but also maintains offices in the USA, Ukraine, Belgium, and China. The firm has two main lines of product that it plans to use to attack the Middle East IT sector.

The first, and most prominent is through its line of business intelligence solutions for economic analysis and forecasting, financial and production modelling for business corporations, risk management as well as investment planning.

The second is through Prognoz's line of analytical services in foreign trade, agriculture, tourism, energy and healthcare. The services are based on the unified data warehouse with statistics based on a number of reputable data sources including the UN, IMF, World Bank, Eurostat and statistical bureaus sourced from several different countries.

Shestakov believes an appearance at GITEX is the best way to present Prognoz in the Middle East: "We are exhibiting for the first time and expect to find incentives for our business development on the Middle East market. GITEX seems to be the starting point of Prognoz's presence in the Middle East. If everything goes well and we feel the interest and potential demand for our products, we will definitely consider establishing a new Prognoz office in the UAE.
