ITWorx completes UAE school software rollout

ITWorx revealed on day one of GITEX Technology Week that it had completed the rollout of its pioneering e-learning system to 50 El-Ghad schools in the UAE.

ITWorx revealed on day one of GITEX Technology Week that it had completed the rollout of its pioneering e-learning system to 50 El-Ghad schools in the UAE.

The software application, which is available in both English and Arabic, is based on the Microsoft Learning Gateway. It will enable students to access assignments and other course work remotely from any PC with an internet connection.

"Introducing IT into all areas of the school environment, not just computer lessions, is absolutely essential if schools are to to graduate students capable of succeeding in the 21st century workplace," says Hafez Hamdy, marketing director at ITWorx.

"The benefits of e-learning are well-proven. Students benefit from accelerated learning, teachers collaborate better with their colleagues, and parents are able to monitor the progress of their children and communicate directly with staff, giving the school a far more central role in family life."

The e-learning system is linked via a portal accessible by all staff. To date, ITWorx has trained 80 teachers to use the system.
