Affno’s concentration on winning e-Government deals at GITEX Technology Week has been accelerated by its recent string of investments in its expansion into Middle East and Africa.

The company intends to “attract officials in charge of e-Government plus business partners who are strong in e-Government in the MENA region”, according to CEO Suren Kannangara.

“We are making a large investment in the MENA region. We already appointed a country representative in Bahrain in the last quarter," he reveals.

Affno has also registered the company in Dubai and it is currently in the process of setting up an office in the Dubai Silicon Oasis.

The company’s stand features an impressive showcase of its existing deployments in the sector.

“We have a strong track record in e-Government where we have worked on very large e-Government projects in Asia and Africa. We want to share case studies of some of these key e-Government deployments,” Kannangara says.

Kannangara reveals the company will be demonstrating selected products at GITEX relevant to e-Government initiatives, in the areas of city planning services management, legal case management, e-Tender, correspondence management and expenditure management.

“We had identified the MENA region as our next focus and GITEX gives us the ideal launch pad,” he adds.
